I am shooting a wedding on the 23rd, I have never done a wedding, but its my brothers wedding and they would not have had a photographer otherwise. I am doing it as a gift to them.

I only have 1 zoom lens, my 55-200mm and its not too fast. I cant get sharp enough photos sometimes with it. I have my kit 18-55, my 50mm, and my 10-20 lens.

So I want to rent a lens to take with me, and wanted opinions on which one would be the best for indoor weddings? They are getting married inside a church, so I am sure lighting will be an issue.

I can use my sb-600 off camera too for some fill light as the church doenst have any restrictions against lighting.

(and just an aside, they were actually married last week in a small ceremony but are doing the actual wedding and reception on the 23rd)

17-50 f/2.8 or thereabouts.

Why not buy the 50 mm f/1.8? Cheap, good for low light. You just gotta move around to get your shots.

At least you have a D300, can shoot at higher ISOs.

I have that 50mm lens. I love it! Stays on my camera 99% of the time.

Rent an 85mm f1.2 and/or the 50mm f1.2

You'll be flabbergasted by the look and never see your current lenses in the same way.
