How big is the A60/70/80 in your hand/pocket? I own a S602, but need a smaller take it everywhere camera as well (and a bigger one too, but that's for later this year).

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to put in a pocket, how it relates in size to bigger cameras like the S602, S5000, S7000, Dimage 7, Coolpix 5700 or F717 etc?

I was looking at the Minolta X21, but can get the Canon A60 for the same price. Above that the A60 offers full manual control and an optical viewfinder but is slightly larger: 86x67x24,5mm vs 101x64x31,5mm. Holding a ruler next to my S602 helps a bit, but not much. :)

My son has the A60, and it's reasonably small. Easy to put in a jacket pocket. It's a great camera, albeit only 2 MP. One advantage it may have over some of the other cameras you cite is that it uses CF cards, which are abundant and cheap.

I've got an A40, which I think is slightly bigger than the A60. It fits real well in the hand, and can fit in a jacket pocket easily. I've put it my jeans pocket for the day without any trouble or "discomfort", though I do wear loose (but not baggy) jeans. If you like your Calvin Kleins skin tight... :) It almost certainly won't fit in a shirt pocket. But like you mentioned, the big key is getting full manual control. And, the pictures come out pretty well, plus if you want/need there is the ability to get an adaptor and add on filters, teleconverter or wide angle. At that point, you're a bit more "encombered", but things still can fit in pockets, or at least baggy pockets.

Thanks for your answers. I hate skin-tight CK's, prefer wider outdoor bigpocket trousers. :) So that will fit, I'll put in my order in a minute. ;)

Thanks again.
