What software that came with your rebel do you actually use? I have limited hard drive space and don't want to install anything I don't really need...

Where is the best place to get more batteries for the Rebel? Do I have to use Cannon batteries or are there third party batteries available?

If you shoot in raw mode (I haven't used it yet do to the above hard drive limitations) is there exif data included that can be used for challenges? How is it accessed?

How do you find enough time to process all the shots that you've taken with your smooth new camera?

You didn't mention whether you're on a Mac or PC. On the Mac, I use NONE of the software that came with the Rebel. Photoshop CS and iPhoto cover everything I need.

Unless you plan on keeping your new toy in the closet, go get a bigger hard drive. The photos from your Rebel will quickly eat up MUCH more space than the full suite of Canon software. You can find drives as big as 80gb for less than $50 (OfficeMax often has rebate deals).

Cheaper third party batteries are available for the Rebel (I bought mine here). You can also find discounts on Canon batteries from places like buy.com, B&H or Dell.

All modes, including RAW, embed EXIF data which many photo processing applications can read.

I don't process all the shots I take. After downloading, I run through them once or twice in iPhoto and trash any shots that I honestly wouldn't print (keep only the two or three best when taking multiple shots of the same scene). If you don't prune ruthlessly, you'll quickly get overwhelmed. Of those that remain, I usually only process a handful of the best.

Currently, none, as I read jpegs using card reader.

I can't offer any specific places, but I use the Hahnel clone, which offers better battery life.

With difficulty, using a very quick and dirty process. I generally drag 20-25 shots into PS then close/edit appropriately.

You can open 20-25 photos at once in PS? My computer grinds to a halt if I open more than 5 or 6 :( With my old G2 I could normally open a whole memory cards worth, but not anymore.
