I am currently having canon 400D & yet to purchase my first flashgun.I want to purchase Nissin Di622 because it is having reasonable price over canon 430X & available to my local dealer. Anyone here used it? If yes then how is your experience with it? did you used in wireless mode? If yes then what you have used for triggering. I came to know that Cactus triggers don't work with this flashgun. Is it true?

OK looks like nobody here knowing Nissin Di622. The next option my dealer is suggesting to purchase studio flash system. The available products are at here SIMPEX-PRO. Mostly I need to use the lighting system indoors. These systems are available with radio trigger,umbrella/softbox & light stand.
I really want to know:
1.How do you compare flashgun vs such studio flash system?
2.What model may fulfill my needs?
3.How do you compare soft box/umbrella?
4.Does this system can be useful for taking stock photos on white backgrounds?
hoping for some replies this time.

I am thinking about at least one flashgun/light around 200$-250$ maximum with trigger unit & soft box/umbrella.
But anybody please answer my basic questions please. |

I don't know anything about the units you posted but you might give this a look.

Here are some studio flash lights which are available in my local shop. Can you suggest which will be suitable for my need. Currently I am planning to purchase one light along with umbrella, light stand & a set of radio trigger for my 400D.

I got the (2) Genesis 400's kit and it kicks azz... Great Stands, Great build on the units, fan cooled. The Umbrellas are the type you can take the black off and shoot through. 400's are hella powerful, I could have probably done with the 200's. These are some nice lights. |
