I just returned from a week in Vermont. When not stuck inside due to rain, or tormenting my mother about her turing 50, I was outside doing what you're supposed to do in VT - hike! We visited several of my favorite places. Since I grew up in VT, several of them are somewhat off the known path, which is all the better in my mind. Anyway, thought you all might like to see some shots from someplace that seems infrequently talked about here on DPC.
And perhaps it will give the VT GTG group something to think about, although it looks like they're mostly visiting places to the north of where I was.
Covered Bridges in Rutland County
Killington Mountain
Shelburne Museum
White Rocks National Recreation Area
Kent Pond

Stop tormenting your mom.
You wouldnt want her turning your old room into the "Jacuzzi Room" would you?
On second thought, maybe napping in a Jacuzzi would beat the old race car bed. |

Great images Brent. I like the images of Kent pond and looking at Killington. Wonderful captures of the gentle roll of the mountains in summer. It's nice to see the quiet spots of Vermont...and a good thing because that is what Vermont is all about. My wife and I will be up at our place on Ascutney this weekend and I hope to get out and enjoy the feel of our shared state.
I plan on attending the GTG in September as well, I just need to figure out if the family will be joining me as well... |
