Last two days appear to be a bit unusual, it has been running about 35-45 new users in the last week or so. I did see one duplicate account, will notify admins.

Just got my first comment on 'free study' and the score mentioned in the comment matches the score received. I hope this doesn't mean my total score is really supposed to be so low, because if it's right then I'm definitely headed for my lowest score ever.

My 'free study' score has actually been going up in the last hour, but my 'out of place' score keeps hitting new lows.

OK i´m not a good photographer, i know, but i´m getting my lowest score ever in MFS challenge, and believe me i had posted worse shots.
What is this?

May be i need a break.

By the way, i haven´t vote yet, so don´t blame me. ;)

Got a short break in the free study scoring:

7, 1, 7, 1, 7, 1, 4.67 (avg of 3, maybe a 1 in there), 1, 5, 7, 5, 1

At least I thought I was done with my pattern 7 1 7 1 when I got 7, 5, but the 7, 1 person must have just gone to dinner ;)

And for all I know there's a 1 in that group of 3 I missed...

I'm beyond complaining, just find this interesting...

I didn't enter either the Out of Place or the motion challenge so I can afford a bit of humor at all of your expense

By way of a story... when VW bugs first came out many of the people who bought them did so because they (the people) were cheap and the bug got exceptional gas mileage (back when gas was cheap nobody really knew what their gas mileage was -- never entered their minds that this would/could be a measure of anything). These odd-balls used to brag to their friends about the gas mileage. It got annoying.

The April fools trick "friends" use to play is that they would fill up the VW's gastank secretly (before the days when such things had locks) so that each day the owner would report wildly high numbers and giggle when they spoke. Of course the punch line was that the friends would reverse the process after a few days and syphon off gas each night. The numbers would plunge - the joke complete.

The connection to the challenges -- suppose, just suppose that the first set of numbers you're using to compare against are the "april fools" numbers... the prankster(s) later adjusted them to more realistic levels... (of course that would mean my March entry is doing way awful!!) ;)

There's obviously a large group of people here with unusually low and/or freefalling scores. My Out of Place entry was certainly not my worst photo, but it's knocked out my personal low by nearly a full point. Rather than issue endless conspiracy theories... maybe if this crowd went back and added 1 or 2 to each of their own votes, we'd all feel much better. ;-b

This would have been the week when the brown ribbon would have been hotly contested. See if the blue ribbon isnt taken by something close to a six.

I think those that are abusing their voting privileges should be suspended and their votes should be nulified.

Admart01, I remember those days all too well. (I was driving an MG at the time, and giggling at the hapless VW folk too.) However, nowadays, anyone who fiddles with the gas mileage on my Prius (about which I brag all the time) will have a head in a handbasket rather quickly.

Meanwhile, back at the subject at hand, I did a preliminary sorting earlier on the March Free Study. Now I'm going back and doing comments. As I do them, I sometimes reassign values. Mostly up, because there are so many really good ones. So, assuming I assigned a "7" to an image the first time and then reassigned an "8" would this read as a new "1" to those whose sliderules/calculators are so busy right now?

I was very surprised to see my entry drop from a 5.9 to a 5.1 so fast! what will happen in the next 5 days?

Don't ask!
Can anybody beat this? Six of the last eight votes on my "motion blur" entry have been ones!

Nope, just one "zero" on my MFS entry. And one "eleven" on the same entry!

No, not so much. The indicator would be the average score going up ever so slightly, but the number of votes staying the same. But honestly, I don't have the time to keep clicking the 'update' button to calculate what votes I'm receiving. All of you out there who do have this time need to be helping me write a research paper right now.

sfalice- I think you nailed it... if I change my vote from a 6 to a 5 at the same time some disgruntled voter fires off a 1, then the compulsive score watcher might calculate one additional vote of 0. Likewise, if I raise my vote by two points at the same time another person votes a 9, then the average also changes by one vote of 11 (or something like that).

just got a 1 both on MFS and Out of Place.... within 10 minutes of each other and mostly likely a lot more 1s all day... just like everyone else my scores are plummeting!

How do you like your Prius? I'm very strongly considering buying one. ANY complaints whatsoever?
