I took a few aerial shots today during our MedEvac training flights. Shot with my Pentax Optio W20.
Thought they turned out worthy enough to share.

Thanks for replying here Bear.....seems no one else replies to my posts these days.
I do appreciate the few who left a comment or two on the pics. I just feel like a lost soul
tbese days on DPC as I can't seem to get anyone involved in a forum thread.

Maybe because you posted at 4 am on Sunday (my one day to sleep in) and most folks have family plans. I am sure that many more people will view and comment during the week. Beautiful landscapes BTW.

Barb, thanks for the comments. I have noticed that since I moved and now on Alaska time the folks I always 'forumed' with are now missing in threads I post. Guess not too many who really know me here are awake when I am in the evening.

Appreciate the aerials! It's always interesting to see the bigger picture, particularly in a place like Alaska. I need to spend some more time in your portfolio - you've got some wonderful views in your Scenic folder. But since I'm on the other side of the Atlantic, it's bedtime here now. :-)

David's post is that of an aerial, or antenna as it is known in the US. Took me a second.... :-)

These were taken in the Matanuska Susitna Borough....about an hour north of Anchorage. Unfortunately the day was rainy so no beautiful blue skies. The temp was right around 60 on the ground. Of course that means we were a bit cooler in the air, but it still did not feel cold. The glaciers give the impression that all of Alaska is icy and snow all year round, but it really does get beautiful in other areas. At my house everything is green and flowering. Now if the sun would just come out more.

Those are great. The scenery is spectacular.

Some advice about shooting from aircraft:

1. Don't fall out. Easier said than done, but pay attention.

2. Don't drop your camera. It's really really hard to take pictures if your camera gets slammed into the ground at 100+ mph
