I'm excited for you. Here's a thread from my experience.
Hope you get some great pics and can share them here when you're done. :-)

I am borrowing your train tracks next to a bridge shot.. :D
Just thought of the perfect spot..its only a few minutes walk from where we were goin gto be shooting anyways... Thanks for the thread!
It seems a bit dangerous..we get trains at least once a day...but I think we have a long enough view BOTH ways to ensure we can get the hell out of the way...

Yeah, we really didn't want her to get into the water until much closer to sunset, so the train tracks came in real handy while waiting for the sun to go down. So it'd be good to have an alternate location close by to shoot in case you need to burn some time.

yeah..that was my thinking also. We are meeting at six...and were going to go out into the forest and take some pics...then to the lake..now it will be FOREST-TRAIN TRACKS-LAKE. |

FANTASTIC TTD photo's...
and I really like your photo's of Temple Square.
I was actually suprised that the church hadn't copyrighted the image. Or can they NOT..because of how old it is?
either way..I am jealous. I have only been to two temples...and both were the small version. Magnificent...but nothing like Salt Lake. |

I dunno... the only time I've ever been told that I couldn't photograph the temple was one time in front of the visitor center. I had been there shooting many times. But I took a newlywed couple over to the fountain over there to get pictures. I was immediately confronted by two security guards informing me that I could not shoot there. But.... I shoot there all the time. "No commercial photography" they said. Had I been quick on my toes, I would have replied, "but this one is for free!". ;-)
Anyway, outside of wedding pictures, I used to shoot there several times a week as I would take my camera with me every day to work and walk through Temple Square on the way in or on the way home. My office is no longer so close, so the images have slowed to a crawl... now about the only time I shoot there is for weddings.

I'm working on a couple of TTD sessions, from mild to wild. I've got a senior that wants to do some mild (as in not destroy the dress) for her senior session. Then I got a local bridal/dress place to donate 3 prom dresses that can be destroyed.
I've got 3 wedding dresses from a local thrift store and am lining up models to fit them. It's tricky as they're not marked for sizes.
Now it's tempting to try this with a prom dress - (image from here)
It was two exposures - one of the model and one of a mannikin on fire.

i am off to shoot!!!
I will be happy as long as I come back with two results.
1.) the pictures aren't total crap
2.) I don't drop my equipment into the lake.
:"D
I will load a few picture tommorow.
I have a get to together after the shoot.
I AM SO EXCITED... |

yay! I don't have very many of the wet parts done yet...
but here are a few..I wish I had more time to sit down and edit..and whatnot...
but I am a family man with lots of friends...heading off again..but I would like some input into the first bit of the photoshoot.
It was two hours long!
and alot of fun...the people on the beach (of the lake) were looking at us like we were crazy. Some nutty photographer up to his waist in water...and some nutty girl in a prom dress rolling around in the sand. LOL.
good times..
anyways..tell me what ya think of the first bit..and I will post the rest later.
I haven't checked the quality of these photo's there were loaded into facebook for the girl to see....and I just copied them off facebook so that I wouldn't have to resize for DPC.
Thanks
