I'm a huge fan and Aperture 2, the workflow is unbelievably efficient which allows me to sort through hundreds of images in no time. Yesterday I was struggling with the color balance on an image and just popped up Canon's DPP software to see what it would do. I set the white balance on the same spot I had used in Aperture and I suddenly had very pleasing skin tones and a much more film like look in terms on contrast. I went back to Aperture and could get close, but it took some work. Perhaps I can tune Apertures import parameters, but right now I am debating the efficiency of Aperture vs the pleasing, and more film like, color and contrast curve that I'm getting with DPP.
Has anybody else run into this situation?

Not exactly that situation. But are using the same color space in each?
I had an issue once where I set the levels and hue/sat slides exactly the same on Photoshop CS2 on a Mac and Photoshop CS2 on a PC. They looked totally different.

Yes, the images are in Adobe RGB in both DPP and Aperture and then get converted to sRGB for posting to the web or sending out for prints.
