Triskaidekaphobia means fear of the number 13. Paraskevidekatriaphobia means fear of Friday the 13th (which occurs one to three times a year). In Italy, 17 is considered an unlucky number. In Japan, 4 is considered an unlucky number.

17 is my lucky number...it is my Bday...My current Hot entry is my 17th entry...every locker I had in school included the number 17 (17,117,171,617,1017,8179)...I got my first car when I was 17...Got my first job on my Bday (Jan 17,1984 - Paper Boy,I was 9)...Cought a puck at a hockey game on my Bday...lots of good things happen for me with 17

and I still act and feel like I'm 17

Well, what am I going to do with the spiders....... she was eating three a night until you spoiled that myth! :P

Also, the edge of the green in golf is not the "fringe" but the "apron". Trivial Pursuit taught me that.

The albatross spends its entire life over the ocean, nesting on remote islands. One species has a wingspan of almost three and a half metres (over eleven feet). Individuals are known to regularly circle the globe while foraging over vast expanses of ocean.

Speaking of Braille, my father in law was principal of The Missouri School for the Blind for many years. It was ridiculous the amount of people who would ask him if he knew sign language when they found out he work for the school for the blind. SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND, PEOPLE! THEY CAN"T SEE SIGN LANGUAGE...lol If he had a nickel for every time he was asked that he would have retired a few years earlier:)

However, Helen Keller was blind and also deaf. She learned to communicate with sign language. It was the only way "hear".

To communicate you signed in her hands, and she would read your signing by feeling the position of your fingers.

We have clocks and telephones, and the bed is made.
We have walls and a window and shoes for the feet to fall into.
We have birthdays and dinner and wives who have husbands.
We have friends and automobiles and a pet.
We have spoons and three wishes we have.

We have what we have and we shall wish for something
We do not yet have, we wish and wish and then,
When he have but one wish left
We have something. We have so nearly everything
We have nothing, we have nothing we can, we can think of.

We have nothing when we can think of nothing.
We have something when we can think of nothing more.
We have something when we can think of nothing we want so bad
That we do not ask. We do not need to
Ask or want when we do not miss

Having and caressing and owning a thing of great beauty.
We have what we are what we do with any wonderful thing.
We have measure and words and a place to sleep.
We have what we hold which is a marvellous thing.
We have this great yearning.

[a thing of great beauty -ZZ 2008]
