I am sure that this has probably been brought up before, but how does shooting with a non full frame and a teleconverter work? So the d200 is something like a 1.5 crop, meaning a 200mm is really like a 300mm on film slrs.... so I now add a 2x teleconver to that... does it make it an even 600mm because of the conversion, or is the conversion strength also bumped up because of the non full frame sensor? Hard to explain and confusing, but I would sure like help with this! Thanks!

You got it 600mm 1.5 x 200 x 2 = 600mm. Crop x lens x TC = X mm |

Right on the math. But be careful about light. You lose 2 stops of light with a 2x TC.
With many cameras, if your max aperture falls below a certain level, like 5.6 or 6.7, your autofocus won't work.
And every minute imperfection in your lens will now be doubled in size.
Basically, use a TC on a fantastic lens and you'll get good-great results depending on technique. But use it on a so-so lens and you'll likely get poor results.
