Heading to Montreal, Quebec City and Tadoussac/Sanguenay fjord end of next month, and came across this article describing a law up there that apparently makes it illegal to publicly post any picture of a person (other than a crowd shot) on the web, via email, in a publication, etc., without their permission. Anyone know if this is still the law up there?
And, while you're at it, if you have any special, hidden spots to visit or photograph in any of those places, or any info on best times/locations to shoot the less hidden stuff, send em my way. Thanks. |

It is the law that any photos taken in Quebec, if including any sort of signage, the signage must not be in English-only. French-only is preferred, but bilingual is acceptable, however, the French part of the bilingual sign must be more prominent that the English part.
If you are caught attempting to export photos showing only the English portions of any signage, the suritee will mock you repeatedly and sometimes even fart in your general direction.

Now I thought it was only the knights who say Nee who farted in your general direction, and they're quite English if I recall, so methinks perhaps this is merely merde de toro, humourous merde to be sure, but merde nonetheless. |

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming:
