OK, I have XP pro, and I've never really had a problem with this until about 2-3 days ago. Usually, when I turm my camera on, windows would automatically pick it up as being a camer, and give me around 4-5 options what I wanted to do with the pictures that I had, and I would always choose to copy them to my hard drive.

But then, when ever I connected my camera, it would read it as being just another peice of usb hardware. And as or the last day, it hasn't even been detecting it as being anything. So basically, no detection. So I went out and bought a card reader, because they had a great deal on one in a local store. And that didn't even work. Again, not detected.

Anything I can do manually?
And the camera is my sony 707

Thanks

you might have a bug or something... Think maybe you need to put in your XP disk and try a repair... You won't lose anything saved on your HD.. it just goes through and fixes any glitches that may have happened..

Also, where you doing anything differnt, loaded a new program or anythign when it started happening??? or did it just degenerate and nothing?

It sounds like the USB connection. Did you try the camera/card reader on another USB port? Also, is it a hub you're connecting to?

I bought a hub a while back and it was really flaky about recognizing anything so I returned it.

Tried pretty much everything, but still, not working. I'm going to re-install windows tomorrow when I get back from college. But if you have any other suggestions, please post them. Thanks
