My wife and I are heading to Puerto Vallarta in a couple months - any suggestions on some good photo spots? Thanks for any tips.

I was just there about a month ago and mostly stayed at the hotel beach. I do suggest hitting town one day, seemed to be pretty cool even though every pan handler and seller of something bothers you. I wish I would have spent a bit more time there and captured a bit more of the local life but my wife was dragging me around and I only brought one lens in town. When there I had some friends do the Tequila tour up in the mountains and I heard that was worth a trip. The bay is nice at sunrise and sunset as well. Enjoy your trip and here is a link to my Flickr site where I have a few of my Puerto Valalrta pics.

Los Arcos. Great snorkeling, great vistas.

This is a link to my photo gallery from our trip to Puerto Vallarta in January 2006...

There's lots of beautiful scenery all around Banderas Bay. The Malecon is great for shopping and photo ops of people and buildings. I like the beach area in old town too. Diving at Los Arcos was a lot of fun. We saw giant manta rays and all kinds of other sealife. If you have time, get out and see Mismaloya, Yelapa, and some of the other small towns.

Keep an eye out for green iguanas. You see them a lot in the palm trees...

Oh, and don't forget to have fun!

Hey Trevor, I thought there was something familiar when I checked out your photos. When I saw this one it finally dawned on me that we both stayed at the same hotel. :)

You got a bunch of great photos. I hope you guys enjoyed your stay as much as we did.

Yeah, I saw your hotel shot looking over the pool and thought the same, we both took the same shot, though you had a better sky than I did, great pics!

Look for a company call Vallarta Adventures and take the Sierra Madre tour. They take you out in a yellow unimog through the mountain villages, you stop for a short hike in the jungle, stop at authentic homestead to sample fresh tortillas and salsas, and then you go to a quiet beach where food and beverage is included in the price (alcohol too). Then on the ride back to town the tour guide has a stuffed cooler in case you are still thirsty. Lots of great photo ops along the way, and tons of fun!

Edit, found the web site for you:

Well worth the money!!!
