Hi, I'm hoping someone has a great new trick for getting rid of the white(ish) background on this type of image. I'm doing it now with magic wand and magnetic lasso, but since I have a load of these to do, I thought I'd see if anyone has come up with a quicker, easier way? I'm not sure there is one, but I'm a born optimist! Thanks for any and all help.
Lynn

You can try dodge and burn.
Assuming photo shop ....
Create a new layer -> mode = overlay and tick the fill with 50% gray
choose the brush tool and set the colour palette to white, set opacity to about 20% to start with and just paint the bits you want to make lighter .... choose black to make them darker. You can vary the opacity and size of the brush as you see fit.

Depending on "how different" they are, you may be able to make careful adjustments with Curves without having to make any selections at all. Are you trying to get the BG to pure white, or do you want it to retain some tone? Perhaps you can post an example image? Sorry, I missed your link in the original post ....

Are you wanting to change the color of the white bacground or make it whiter? I was just asking because I played with your image a bit. (Please forgive me) Anyway I made the image whiter and the shirt pinker but I still used the magnetic laso for the background not the shirt. I'll post the original and after I played with it. I tried other methods but I only had a few minutes to play so I didn't find other methods of how to do it. Sorry if this doesn't help.

I basically copied the layer and used selective color (white) to adjust the color of the shirt. Then I erased the background and skin to show the bottom layer. Used magnetic laso and feathered selection by 5 on the background and again went into selective color (white) to adjust to how I wanted it to look.
Also sorry if the shirt wasn't pink it just looked that in the folds of the cloth so I tried to bring it out more.
