Thanks for the comments on my "Anything But Landscape" entry. I thought I'd share a few of the alternates that I shot in the 2 days before I shot the one I entered. The models are my daughter, Taylor (on the left), and he 3 best friends, Jessa, Cheyenne and Danielle. We really had a great time creating these images.

This was the one I entered:

And here are a few of the other poses:

Coolio! The series reminds me of some old B&W films I used to go to the university film-studies classes at night and watch before I had my adult teeth. There were some segments with synchro swimmers/dancers making flowing and changing flower patterns from above.

" Jac
.....I can see you having fun with this type of shot. How long did it take to prepare? .... "

Jac, it was super easy. I started with the girls all wearing tank tops, but the straps were all over the place and very distracting. So I cut 2 or 3 feet off the bottom of the backdrop I had them laying on & wraped strips around each of them. Much cleaner look. I climbed a ladder so I was about 6 feet above them & shot like mad. Lights included a 4' soft box hanging right above Taylor's head and a smaller 2' softbox hanging over from the right. There is also a fill light with umbrella behind me so lighten the shadows.

Give it a try, simple set-up, fun results.

At first glance it looks like a trick with mirrors. Try a 2-person versionand make it like the "Queen/King of hearts" playing cards.

Your entry looks the best for me. Must look good big on canvas ;)

Might wanna give the fabric a little bit more shadows so the wrinkels aren't visible anymore (especially next to the the girls in the corners)

PS: looking towards eachother isn't very charming. I'm looking right into their noses.

lol that's why I didn't enter that one! I like that they're looking at one another, but the up the nose thing isn't for everyone. :P
