"Shoot an image that could have been an outtake from the session of a famous photo or painting without duplicating the scene."

While related topics of 'retaking a famous photo or painting' and 're-editing a photo' have been discussed before (and currently), I have to agree that they would tend to make for very monotonous voting. If the famous photo or painting was choosen with care to provide a wide range of variation the monotonous repetition while voting would be avoided.

The photo submitted could concentrate on some portion of the larger scene, what happened before (after) or some other variation of the origin without loosing the 'feel' of the original. Some allowances may need to be made for settings, seasons and such; but all in all it should make for an interesting challenge that could be revisited many times just by choosing a new photo or painting.
