Hi, I am a new member here and an amateur photographer. I find myself interested in macro photographs but have no macro lense to give it a try.
I wonder if some one would kindly suggest some good macro lense compatible with my Nikon D100. I would greatly appreciate if I can get some advice before I invest. Thanking you all in anticipation.

The sigma 105mm macro lens does a wonderful job and is highly recommended by a lot of people. I have one myself and I find it excellent, although I'm not a huge fan of macro and have yet to try a bug shot with it.

		| If you are on a budget, I have also heard a lot of good things about tamron SP90mm macro lens. I have Nikkor 105mm macro. From what I was told it's not as sharp as 60mm macro Nikkor. However, I haven't been able to tell the difference. Plus, 105mm lens gives me the extra distance for shy subjects. |

Thank you very much for your time & suggestions. Please help a little more to make a final decision.
Looks like Sigma is almost half the price than Nikkor 105mm.
What are the other advantages and disadvantages of 105mm VS 55mm/60mm ?
Regarding Sigma 105mm, does it have AF abilities to work with Nikon (as the manual suggest for CPU type G or D lenses.
What extension tubes and lighting sources should be bought along with a macro for best results and to be able to capture tiniest details, say of snow flake?

		| I would get the macro tilt shift lens. I wish canon had one. I have the 90 tilt/ shift, but it's not a macro, and I'm too lazy to put an extension tube on it. ;D |
