OK, here's the deal. My computer is currently located in the basement. I'd like to move it upstairs, but I don't have a place for it.
I do have a 47" LCD TV with an unused HDMI input port. I'd like to connect it to my computer and use a wireless keyboard/mouse so I don't have to go down into the "cave" every time I want to check email or find out what time a movies starts or what-have-you.
Is there a way to do this? I know I can get a HDMI to DVI cable/adapter and a wireless keyboard/mouse, but what about connecting it in a way that still lets me use the computer downstairs when I want to edit photos? |

I do it every day at work. Our server has a local keyboard, mouse and monitor and it also is attached to a remote keyboard mouse and monitor. Both sets of keyboards and mice are USB and I've not had any problems with it.
Also if the wireless keyboard and mouse give you problems, we use a KVM extender in some of our shipboard installs. It transmits keyboard, mouse and video all over a single CAT5 cable. Here is a link to the ones we use. //www.networktechinc.com/extenders-kvm.html
