Yep. Not real concerned with mine (it has good comments, did OK scorewise) but am VERY excited to see your finish! Mostly I look forward to seeing it on your profile page! Definitely one of the better side benefits of Team Suck, I'd have to say...

I've got three photos in voting now - sitting at 4.9. 5.0 and 5.1

It's likely just me, but I find that somewhat amusing.

Some very nice scoring patterns going about!

By the way, from the SCSC (street candid side challenge) here's a very useful tutorial for a couple of approaches to converting to B&W, created by shalrath. If you have pop-up blockers, do whatever it is you do to allow the pop-up, both when you click on the link, and when it prompts you to save.

Deb, that tutorial is 46meg? That is one huge tutorial!

It's a video. And yeah, kinda big. But if you're into step by step videos, it's quite cool! Download it, unzip it, then watch. It's nicely basic.

My darling little cat Scout has just been hit by a car and killed, right outside my house. I held her whilst she was still warm, but have now wrapped her in Lucy's duvet cover and put her in a box. I feel like I can hardly breathe. Lucy is inconsolable.

Oh no! Sara, my heart goes out to you and Lucy. That's horrible. I wish there was more I could do. My heart just breaks to hear that, it really does. Hugs from across the miles, my dear.

How horrible for you, Sara! My condolences to you and Lucy.

eta I just looked at photos you had of Scout in your portfolio - looks like he was a companion to Milo - hope Milo takes the loss of his buddy well. I had two kittens once that had grown up together and when the one died, the other was out of sorts for quite a while.

Very very sorry for your loss.

Thank you for your kind words Deb and Karen - it was such a horrible shock. Lucy has taken it very badly, so we are going to spend the night at a friends as she doesn't want to be here.

Sara, I am so sad to hear of your loss. :( I am a cat person as well and they are such great companions that when you lose one it is truely devastating. So sorry. :(

Oh Sara, I'm so very sorry. I know how very hard that is as I've been in the same situation.

Sara I am so very sorry for your loss. Pets have a way of moving into our hearts and taking up residence there, I am sure you will remember her forever.

Sara, I'm so sorry to have missed this post and to be so insensitive to have posted about my scores while your dealing with this grief. Hy heart felt apologies for missing this and my heart goes out to you and your family in your time of need. I hope you and your daughter can find peace sometime soon. Scout will live on in your memories.

You have commented on 82 images (99%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.0122.

Jacob & Wilhelm would have been pleased with the effort that has been put into this difficult challenge of a past era,

I Personally had a disturbing experience while shooting in the Botanical garden for the challenge, An old guy of about 75-80 walked past and made a slanderous comment that I can't mention without giving away my entry, I have stated it in photographers notes.

Sara, here is something I wrote after my best kitty Siron had to be put to sleep on Christmas eve due to her cancer. It helped me find some peace by writing it, I hope it might help you a little tiny bit too. From one cat lover to another.

Just A Cat

âItâ was âjust a catâ he said,
without meaning any real harm.
I pondered what was said.

âJust a catâ that playfully woke me,
a funny 6 toed foot to the face
letting me know her dish was empty.

âJust a catâ that made me laugh,
attacking my blanketed feet,
beckoning me to play.

âJust a catâ who craved attention,
laying on this keyboard,
and I smiled as I typed.

âJust a catâ nuzzled my ear,
purring softly and giving comfort,
somehow knowing when to do so.

âJust a catâ looked at me,
with nothing but her love,
and unconditionally so.

No sir, not âJust a catâ.
She was my best friend.

Thank you all so much for your kind words, and especially to Ernie for his poem that sums up so well what I feel. Your support has made me feel less 'alone' and better able to cope.
