I thought I would take a moment to recognise what a great year Irene M is having (photographically at least), as by my reckoning, this year so far she has scored -
12 ribbons, (4 Blue, 3 Red, and 5 Yellow)
In reverse date order . .
   
   
   
and as if that's not enough 13 top 10 places that didn't ribbon - including 6 Honourable mentions !

I realised a while back that  irenem is a great photographer, but it's only when you bring all these images together like this, that you realise how great! Well done Irene |

Just made me realize that she wasn't in my favorite photogs list. Way to go. Now I feel guilty. I hope you are happy.

YAY Irene! Unbelievable accomplishment! If I didn't know the SC tests for steroids, I'd be suspicious. ;-)
I, too, am guilty of thinking you were already in my fav's. Thanks to Jedusi for this thread - it really is a set of achievements worthy of collective recognition. Maybe DPC should have some gold, silver and bronze medals for certain achievements like this. |

I have for a long time, realized that out DPC friend Irene IreneM is very special, and so very talented. She was one of the WPL "Outcast" members with me. I believe that her amazing work is due to the way she looks at life, and her dedication to photography, and the high stands she puts on herself. A true professional, in the way she thinks of an idea, and then carries it through to taking a brilliant photo, and then processing it to it best.
We are blessed to have here with us at DPC.

| Yay Irene !!! all the accolades are well deserved. You have many fans here in Singapore admiring your work & trust me we analyze your shots and that is definitely helping us improve a bunch. Way to go, as the rest say you definitely rock !!! |

How many weeks have gone by this year? 24, 25? And she's won 12 ribbons already? Pretty amazing. What's also interesting is according to hopper's points race chart over 170 different photographers have won a ribbon this year. You wouldn't think that with Irene and also  timfythetoo racking up the ribbons.

Well, THANKS to all of you (just found this thread and I'm totally overwhelmed).
Joining this site was, photographically speaking, the best decision I ever made. The people here are great and there is so much inspiration, help and knowledge to be had. It's most definitely my favourite place.

I sit in aw as I look at the power of greatness. You are truly a great photographer Irene, congratulations.
Your soon going to have to up your game though if you want to start replacing your portfolio front page. If you keep going the way you are, you'll need all 8+'s to do that.
That will be a hard task, but if you had settled for mediocre scores with so-so images (like me:)) you could sneak in a good one, every now and then and nobody would be the wiser.
Boy, I'd hate to be in your shoes now, people will keep an eye on you to see if you can continue your rise to the ultimate challenge of reaching an all 8 portfolio page.
I don't envy you for having that task ahead of you, while I (and so many others) sneak in the odd good one and slowly (very slowly) catch up to you.
Oh the pressure of greatness, how do you handle it??
Do you see the problems greatness causes?? What a pickle your in:)

I would like to thank to  scalvert and Larus for stopping their runaway "ribbon trains", and warn IreneM to stop hers before she gets into my "Most Hated DPCers" list (Totally out of jealousy and envy)
What happens if you are in my black book? I donno, I'll find something out. Maybe I go to your houses, ring your bells and run MUHAHAHAHAAAAAAA... (ehm... excuse me, I had joy for a moment.)
Anyway, IreneM, please stop... if it's the "DPC hat" you want, I'll send you one, just leave us some ribbons... OR ELSE :/ |
