Ironically, Word on the Mac platform has pretty consistently been rated as better than Word under Windows ...

YUP! Office for Mac is much better. I thought I would have to buy parallels, windows, just to get some office compatibility, but once I got office for mac, got NO need for Windows.

Looking forward to my first iPhone soon, now, too ;~)

I am sure an 70's AMC Gremlin and a 70's BMW 320i had about the same specs also. Which would you rather be driving? Which one do you actually see driven TODAY? Which company is STILL around?

I just bought myself a little graduation present :)

A new macbook, the nice black one :) (yay I've been wanting to switch to mac for two years now!), along with Microsoft Office and PHOTOSHOP CS3!!!!!!

All for just $2000!!!! I mean it's still a big purchase, but it aught to have cost more like $4000. The reason I'm loving Apple so much right now is that even though I've already graduated (in May), they still gave me the education discount. All I had to do was call and ask! Photoshop for just $300! And the guy was soooo nice and helpful. I think I'm ready to say I've officially been converted :)

Just a "heads up".

We had the education version for a while a couple of years ago when Mickey was in school. When we wanted to upgrade, we found it wasn't "upgradeable" , and had to purchase the full version.

Well dang, that's sad news. Oh well, hopefully I won't still be a poor recent grad by the time I need an upgrade (fears of possible graduate school debt haunting me). I'm just glad they still gave me the deal even though I'm not a student anymore. Thanks for the heads up :)

You can upgrade Adobe education versions. But it has to be exactly the same product.

I bought the student version of the entire Creative Suite (CS2). When Photoshop CS3 came out I wanted to upgrade just the Photoshop application, but I couldn't do that. I have to upgrade the whole CS2 suite to a CS3 suite.

I'd rather have the Gremlin. It'd be worth 10x what that Beemer is.
