Curious what folks think of this. It was shot off the hip but not very well: I didn't quite get her all the way into the frame, and since I didn't have the ISO set manually, it suffered some motion blur from being handheld at 1/25.
Anyway, it seemed to still have some interest, so I thought I'd get a little more adventurous in my processing than I usually do, and capitalize on its imperfections.
Interesting or just plain silly?

Not silly at all! I love it. Using blur in photography is kind of trendy these days, and this one I think is done well. I like the colors, the urban setting, and the composition is interesting!
Nice job!

Great comments. Thank you! Since response was favorable, here's another, shot less than a minute later. Also had some problems with hand shake and blur, but again, I tried to enhance it and incorporate it into the presentation.

Yeah, I like this one! Was the radial blur on the original, or done in PP? It fits the image really well.

*Looks* to me like that blur is water trails from the bike spinning out. If it was done in PP it is a hell of a sophisticated piece of work :-)

I like the feel of both of these shots. Very urban, city life energy to them both. |

You guys are doing wonders for my ego. Actually this was done in post-processing. The problem with radial blur is that a little goes a long way, and it has a high cheese factor too, in my opinion. I was looking for a more subtle application. It was a lot of trial and error. PM me if you want the details.
And thanks for the great comments on these! |
