Tomorrow, to get away from the downtown DC traffic and ado related to the 4th of July, we will be driving up to Bedford County, PA. Any suggestions from anyone in the area? We will be passing through Frederick, Hagarstown, Cumberland, and where ever else on our way to Hyndman. and then back.

Anyone have any can't miss places they would like to share? A good weathered barn on the way, perhaps? :)

Old Bedford Village has all sorts of old, weathered things :)

maybe old weathered people? That would be cool - a really old guy in a really old pair of jeans in front of a really old building...with a grape nehi. (does that show my age?)

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll check it out!

Actually......

There is a beautiful weathered barn out that way from me here in central Pennsylvania.

I saw it from the turnpike on my way out to Pittsburg late winter......I've been looking for the challewnge that'll chase me back out to it.

I almost went for the rural challenge......

I'm headed that way on Sunday around noonish.

I'm brave enough I'll meet you there if you like......8>)

I'd love to meet you there Sunday but, alas, we will only be there Friday, doing one of our marathon drives. We hop into the car around 8AM and drive until we get home (sometimes at 1AM). Saturday we will be on/around the Chesapeake Bay finding a boat and Sunday, if we have energy left, will be Front Royal, Va wandering the woods.

On these marathon drives I go out looking for the perfect location for a later shoot when the weather/season/timing is right; so we don't spend much time in one place. I have these pictures in my head and I'm hoping to find the place they need to be shot. I will have props with me though, just in case the weather cooperates - pray for thunderstorms!

If you can meet up Friday, or anyone else who's interested, that would be cool.

I think we're supposed to be getting a lot of rain and thunderstorms here on Friday. I'm just 30 minutes north of Bedford.

Cool! Weather makes it so much more interesting. I have too many wide open out in the field with harsh sunlight shots already. :)

Isn't that always the way???

Never enough time to be in the right place!

What I hate is when I see that "Perfect" image driving by, save it in my head for that later challenge, then go back, take a look, and go, "Aw SH*T!!!!", 'cause it's NEVER like I remembered it! LOL!!!

It never is. Sometimes even turning around immediately doesn't help - it was that momentary matchup of atoms that worked.

Decided I do have to be in Old Bedford for the xmas thing on December 6 if anyone is interested. And they have some great re-enactments going on...

I've been watching for some of their reenactments. They seem to have a lot of them from different eras. But they always seem to fall on days I have to work.
