Somebody would like me to edit and correct photo's for them. What would be a reasonable price? This would be normal retouching (taking away blemishes, etc.)
Any standard PER PICTURE prices?
Thanks. |

So...what to charge is the question, huh? What do you want paid, what costs do you have (computer, internet, software, education, experience, utilities, insurance, etc) and how many image per hour can you do?
I pay my assistants around $8-9/hour and they might get through 10-15 images in that hour, so i'm paying maybe 75c/image. I go faster, partly from experience and partly cause I know what I want done - it's tougher to do the work for someone else as you don't know what their opinion of 'good enough' is. I like to get $75/hour for editing time and I might get 25 images an hour, again, depending on how much of what needs done to what degree, so I'm getting paid $3/image. I can usually work faster than the software/computer will let me (meaning i seem to spend a lot of time waiting for files to open/close,etc).
Some folks here on DPC say they'll spend 20 or 30 hours on one image. If you can batch everything then it's essentially no time at all. Some images will prolly take more time than others so get some samples and time yourself and go from there.
