albc,

its too bad you have to endure the a$@hole comments. People need to get a grip, you can see more skin or sexually suggestive material on prime time TV. There is nothing wrong w/ the human figure no matter how you photograph it. People say its trashy and explicit. Why? Because it makes them feel uncomfortable. That sure beats the hell out of the feeling you get looking at nothing but water drops, wine glasses and birds.

Art is supposed to make people think, wonder and ask questions. If these idiots just want to say "ooh what a pretty picture" there are plenty of puppies and kittens to look at.

I think these comments are more complimentary than anything else. You made people feel uncomfortable and actually start an entire discussion that has spanned 2 days based on your 1 image. Thats more than the bird guy can say for his entire award winning career.

Hey...I like birds.

And birds that are drenched in water...that happen to be sipping on a glass of wine are my absolute favs!

I agree with the poster, the lighting is harsh and the pose looks trashy not Glam. while it is not XXX it is not a flattering pose and has a very sexpot feel to it not GLAM.
Wish you uck but recommend thinking about taste levels a bit

Jesting aside, I think a large part of the response to your shot (setting aside the crappy lighting and processing) is the older age and appearance of your model. The pose in this shot

is hyper sexual, even down to the hooker heels. However the model is young, hot and the image itself is exceedingly well done. I think the comments about stirring up an uncomfortable reaction are true, but that has less to do with the overt sexuality of the image as the non-stereotypical woman being used to deliver it.

I would still put this image in a pg13 catagory but the main point is your not looking straight at her crotch in this shot

IMHO and experiance: It's not that explicit in today's world, string bikinis reveal more. I wouild consider it an Erotic photograph in the swim suit category since there isn't any explicit nudity. It's not Pornography at all. As an other photo, there is always room for improvement.

If you're afraid of what your kids may see, then you are not instilling common sense and virtues you think worthy, upon them. It also depends on the Intellegence, maturity, and upbringing. I would let a 12-14 year old see that.

I think it's not what your kids see, it's how they react to things. That's the key.
Sheltering and censoring makes people all the more curious and rebellious. Of course you don't want to go overboard in the opposite direction either, like promoting promiscuity, or such. Sooner or later they will see all that they want to anyway. Now is the time to discuss and teach good habits, through soliciting their opinions. Promote and show them the Reasons for your opinions. People of all ages form opinions by realizing things through examples or discussions.

WoW!
Why people are so blind minded? If someone can't look to this picture as a good shot of a beauty mid-aged woman, what to expect from him? To shot a children been slamed? A famine family an some african savana being surveiled from abutres? This is bad taste!
Some os this scenes are "real world". But @#$% off this bad tasted real world! I like the fantasy world! That one where people are happy and the skys are blue.

Your picture is not bad taste. Is not the most perfect picture of all times. But is nice. Good thinked, not really to perfectly done. But thinked... You have produced it. It is grat! Why people don't play more with subjects like you do?
Go ahead you aren't a depravated sex hunter. You are humam!

Please, send-me the PM with site too.
