Very nice work. How do you find all your new models? You always seem to be posting new ones. :)

Wow, she's hot. Hook a brotha up ;)

Photos are great.

I'm also curious how you find models.

indeed. i like the white on bamboo best. tho she should loose the bra. adds fakeness to the picture. in some ways, she seems a bit out of 'place' in nature by what she is wearing.. could be just me

Ancient Southern Secret

Actually its from OneModelPlace.com

Thanks for the comments.

It took me many months of having models not show up to shoots and not call to cancel but finally I got a shoot her and a shoot there and as my portfolio began to grow I found that people started to turn up for sessions. Some of these models are paid and some are TFP. I generally take 500+ frames during a photoshoot and give a CD of those for proofs. The 'model' then chooses any number of poses for me to try editing. I show the edited photos to her and she picks up to 12 poses and I print them for her and give her a CD of production quality images she can print anytime as well as ten 5x7's and two 8x10's.
'One' thing I'm finding is that people want to see more families posted from my work but I can find 20 somethings to pose for me all day long and can't get my buddies nailed down on when I can photograph them with their wives, children or pets.
Right now I have 2-3 photoshoots with models every weekend from the middle of March through the end of April (except for Easter) and I am shooting the kids on the Easter Bunny's lap for a business next Saturday; they expect 400+ kids.

Those are wondeful portraits, very well done. Just beautiful.

The second 'one' down is my favorite.

Actually 'one' thing I'm "playing with" right now is incongruity. I have an idea in mind that I want to pursue as an artistic "study" and with that in mind I've been trying to get a few poses/settings per photoshoot where the 'model' and the setting may not "feel" right when you first view them. With that in mind I certainly appreciate hearing your comment. That is 'one' thing I was going for. I'm not sure I wanted to get the weirdness factor from the bra but it is something I was shooting for in a couple of the photos.

Thanks,
Kev

Wow, she's remarkably pretty! Don't suppose you could spread that ancient Southern secret to a southern newbie?!

'One' thing, though, is that her mouth was in the same 'pose' for all the pictures (oops: except for the first shot). It would change the whole dynamic of her face if her lips were persed, frowning etc. and add quite a bit of range to her look in the photos (though perhaps you indeed do that throughout the portfolio; if so, just ignore me!)

Cheers
Stu

I really like the posing and the blurred backgrounds of the 3 and 5. The poses look very natural. I don't like the bamboo ones as much because they look a bit cluttered. Very pretty 'model'. I'm sure she'll really like your photos.

Stuart,

The secret is just OneModelPlace.com (you can see my portfolio in my signature - be warned that much of OMP is not a 'place' for the faint of heart). Enterprise is pretty close to the beach; you could find tons of models in your area and shoot all the time if you wanted to put that much work into it.

Ya know, I hadn't noticed that I selected those shots with similar expressions until you mentioned it. 500+ frames of photos and danged if I didn't pick out these. Hmmmm, Dr Freud, please. Paging Dr. Sigmund Freud.
She did have other looks throughout the session but for 'one' reason or another these were the ones I did my rough edit on and posted. You can see a few more in the Portraits folder at my PBase account (also in my signature - and its much more tame both in my account and overall).
Thanks for the comments. She was a wonderful 'model' to work with and hopefully she'll enjoy the photos enough to do another shoot or three with me over the next little while.

I would like to see more light in the face. Especially in the shots backlit by the sun her face is rather dark. Did you use a reflector ?

I would take my next vacation in Tennessee to hold the reflector :P

The are wonderful images. You did a fantastic job!

I would like to know what your settings were and what lighting you used.

BTW~I wouldn't take 12 different poses of the family, take 3-5 different poses. From experience kids won't stay still long enough to get that many poses. And feel lucky if you get just 1. hehee..

Keep them coming. I like you work.

It looks fine to me. I think it is perfect lighting with the sun in the background. I wonder if your monitor is to dark. Look at the bottom bar when viewing a photo and see if you can see all the different shades.

Sonja,

Thanks for the comments.

I went back and entered that info for the photos. Guess I just totally overlooked that the first go around.

Wonderful photos - I love the last 'one' so much! Quite lovely.

Also - thank you SO much for posting the "info" under photographer's comments!! I wish more people would do this - it helps others a lot to be able to see what you did, and what equipment you used.

It is not a matter of monitor, but a matter of taste.
