Ok. This has happened before.

It only occurs once in a while..but it drives me batty.

This has happened with two batches of pictures..but photoshop will not let me edit them. When I go to save..the program freezes up...and it doesn't save the changes that have been made.

This only happens with certain batches..and I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Any advice?

Have you got a 'Save As' step written into your action?
If so, is it written to Save to the Correct file?
On your Batch screen, have you got your Override Action "Save As" command box ticked?
And if so, have you got the correct Destination Folder selected?

Judi's assuming you are running a batch processing script, in which case those all are things to look at. But I'm not sure, from your description of the problem, that this is the case. You may be using the word "batch" casually to refer to the day's output of photographs?

If you are opening these images in PS and it is not allowing you to save after editing, you may have maxed out your computer resources (read "not enough RAM") and the whole thing is packing in. Try shutting down every other running program, open the images one at a time, and see if they are editable/savable.

Any chance the files are "Read Only"?

Or that some other process has the image open? I do that every now and then ... I'll be displaying the image with one program, editing with PS, and when I go to save, PS won't let me save. Close the other program (or close the image) and then PS will let you save.

I think I found the problem...

Color Representation: Uncalibrated

Then when I try to change it in Photoshop it says

"ICC Profile Description is Invalid"

still browsing through that last post...

I found a quick fix...I just open it with my Canon RAW software (even though they are JPEG) and then embed an ICC profile.
