If you have hundreds of these in your driveway, you just need some balloons, colored flags, a loud, obnoxious guy with a cowboy hat and a megaphone and a giant SALE sign to get rid of them. |

Hmmmmmm according to the article, you must have a Golden Rain Tree near your driveway... or seeds from one there...
I dunno, but sounds like an interesting little bug :) |

They are harmless and usually stick around the Golden Rain Tree. When I was a pest control salesperson I was frequently called out by people insisting that I have them killed (which I refused to do). I guess the fact that they are so red freaks people out.
Speaking of red bugs, here's one from my garden today.
