I just wondered what you would do in my shoes. I'm pleased to say I'm going to Hard Rock Calling Festival at Hyde Park at the weekend. A big dilema though, do I enjoy the festival taking snapshots here and there or do I take my canon 40D with appropriate lenses. I think it might be hard going with my 70mm-200mm re weight and lack of movement in the crowds.

What a dilema, if I don't take my dslr i'll spend the whole time looking at all the wonderful shots I'd be missing but If I do take it, it could become a burden carrying it and in fact may not get the chance to use it if the crowds are heaving!

oh and it's the UK so it'll be raining!!!

Why are you going? To enjoy the event, or too take pictures? Assuming it's the former, leave the dSLR at home. That's advice I myself have followed most of my life, and never seriously regretted it. I absolutely HATE being bogged down with cameras when I'm trying to have a good time.

I have to say you're probably right. I know what I'm like when I've got a camera in front of my face. I get home and realise just how much I've missed because I've been otherwise engaged!!

 Thanks - Fran
