Someone thinks its due to me dropping it on its head, but I keep telling that person it was the XT that fell that day.

Anyway, my XTI just turned off once and never turned back on. I've changed the batteries tons time and no go. It's not a battery problem.

Anyway, I also learned that buying the extended warranties are useless. At least the one at Office Depot is (wife bought it as a present). Their two year warranty kicks in from the day you buy it, however they only covers stuff that canon will not cover under the canon warranty during the first year. (total BS)

Now I have to send it in to Canon. How long does is the turn around on defunct cameras that are sent to Canon for Warranty repairs?

Thanks alot.

If I remember correctly, they turned around my 20D shutter replacement in about 10 days(including return shipping).

JaimeVinas is the camera damaged or just not working. There is a big difference when it comes to manufactures warranty. Damage, meaning it has stopped working because of fault of the user and "Stopped Working" means unit failure.

If its been "damaged" and not working and Office Depot warranty covers "damage" then it should be taken care of by OD during the first year since canon will NOT cover damage occurred by user- only manufacture defects.

Ok, I was asking because of your original post. I don't no how long it will take but don't think it would be longer than 10 to 14 days.

took my Xti like 2 weeks to get back due to a messed up shutter button... do not fret, its all pretty quick, they tell you 4-6 weeks... depends on how many idiots drop their cameras that week :P
