Well we think the new one is of course. What do you all think?

Old Site vs New Site

We are closing the current mall studio in a month or so, then reopening a new one sometime in September. BIG changes... so the site had to start looking professional.

So did we achieve it? (Well START it anyway, still lots to do.)

Thank you Sugarpie I think this looks much more professional and upscale, which was our main goal.

Definitely looks very professional :) Much prettier than the old one too.

My one objection is that it takes a while to load up (even on my pretty fast broadband connection).

Ack, with only 4 shots at about 70k-100k each it should be very fast. I think it takes mauybe 3 seconds or so on our cable or dsl either one.

Sorry to be negative about it, but I'm sure you'd want to hear that side as well.

Overall, at first glance it looks great !

However, you play music at me, which I detest. I often listen to music while I am at the computer, and I do NOT want others to force THEIR stuff over the top of mine. I know many others feel like that, too. Only saving grace was that once I turned it off, it stayed off - some websites don't even have the grace to do that much.

The loading took a little longer (fast connection here) than I would have liked, but then again I AM spoiled and like things to happen instantly. It wasn't too bad, though, I could live with it.

At first I liked the scrolling, but then I saw so much of it - felt like EVERYTHING was scrolling - that I didn't like it anymore.

Dark backgrounds often look very classy, as is the case on your website. Downside to that is that light text on a dark background is very harsh on my eyes. Usually I do a "select all" to make it a little bit easier, but that didn't work on your flash site (btw, I spotted one typo - airbushing).

So overall whilst it looks rather nice, I never choose to spend much time on such a site, but go somewhere that I find easier to look at and work with.

To ME, user friendly is more important than pretty. Other's mileage obviously varies.

Thank you Beetle you are right, I do want both the good and the bad :)

I yelled at the English major about the spelling (since all I did was a copy and paste from the original site he did).

Will have to see what I can do about the text. Maybe a larger font, and less bright than pure white. (soft grey should be easier on the eyes to read)

Not sure what our options are on the scrolling, but I'll look into it.

oh yeah, the music. I hate it too. Maybe I'll turn it off every where but the home page? Or altogether....
