Hi, I am considering using the DP prints site but have a few questions.
1) Uploading - I seem to have to upload to my workshop folder, does that make up part of my 10MB? If so I can only upload one image..?
2) Shipping, does anyone know the timescales / reliability of shipping to the UK?
3) Thanks

1) Yes, unless you make a print out of 1 of your challenge entries. Each print must have a place holder photo in your portfolio.
What I did after seeing a couple people do is make a really small place holder photo and link from that.
2)Don't live in U.K.

so it's only your placeholder that takes up the space, the original file can be say 30Mb?

File size limit for printable file uploads is currently 16 MB. |

yeah, what faidoi said. And to answer the first part, only the place holder image takes up the space in your 10MB limit in your portfolio.

John, the only reason to upload to your workshop folder is to make it "invisible" to others here. Of course, it's better if it's not invisible, and in the regular galleries and your viewable portfolio here, because I am sure many sales start here (said from someone who hasn't sold any prints yet).
You can create any number of portfolio folders and upload the placeholder there. Then at the bottom of the image page for the placeholder, there's an area to upload the printable copy, which doesn't count towards your 10MB quota.
That part's easy. Resampling and cropping to meet the requirements for printing in many different sizes is the major headache here. 1.25 and 1.5 give you the biggest size range (small to very large) of output size, as I recall.
I keep this little chart handy so I can crop to the aspect ratio of the print size I want to sell.
Print Size Aspect Base Price
3.5 X 5 Print 1.43:1 $0.32
4 x 5 Print 1.25:1 $0.35*
4 X 6 Print 1.50:1 $0.36
5 X 7 Print 1.40:1 $0.78
