I don't mean to hijack but I have a question that's related.

Im shooting a wedding mid July, so its going to be a nice casual wedding, i have a nice hot pink button up long sleeve dress shirt that i love and it looks good. The wedding is a casual yard wedding with an outgoing couple. Do you think that pink shirt is appropriate?

Funny stuff guys. Thanks for the pictures-- My outfit was somewhere between long sleeves and Art's uni. It went great and I fit right in with the guests. I'll throw up a few pics later. It was hot-the wedding was delayed by about 1/2 hour to allow some more shade to cover the yard and all the guys ended up in the pool at 10:30.

Noisemaker- I havn't seen you in hot pink so I can't make a judgement as to if it 'looks good'. :P I'm guessing it would be OK. just go with the the hi-tech tshirt to help with the sweat. Light pink might show the sweat but maybe you arn't a sweaty guy. Good luck.

I think that it is very important that you explain to the bride and groom up front that in order for you to produce your best work, you need to be/feel as comfortable as possible. If their wedding is to take place in 90 degree heat, you can bet that I'll be out there in a short sleeve shirt and some khakis. If it's fall, I have no problems wearing a long sleeved button down. I never wear a tie, I rarely even wear a jacket. Both make me very uncomfortable. I am certain that I would be fussing with both approx. 50% of the time, so I explain that to them and they always understand.

What do you think they will value more, your keen fashionable "professional" look, or the amazing photos that you produced for them?

I just saw this thread, and got a bit of deja vu. I shot an outdoor wedding Saturday too from 2-11pm, 106 in Pasadena. The reception was in the same outdoor garden area too. I decided to wear a nice sage green (sort of) short sleeve Rayon blend shirt with a matching t-shirt underneath (for spongey purposes) and slacks. They totally understood my need for less-than-formal attire and kept apologizing for the heat as if it was their fault. You might not think if you've seen my profile pic, but I don't do so well in the heat. :-) It was a beautiful place and there were fountains and waterfalls all around, I just wanted to jump in and cool off (but I refrained). When I got home I was beyond beat, and my loving wife literally peeled off my shirts and started up a cold shower to cool me off.

i think the pink looks snazzy on me, so do lots of my friends, and I would definitly wear my underarmour shirt underneath.
