print your screen to file?

If you just press the Prt Scrn button, it copies a screen shot onto your clipboard. Then, you can open photoshop (or anything else) and paste it in there.

I usually just capture to the clipboard; various programs can watch the clipboard and automatically save, for example, Thumbsplus, which is an excellent image organizer too.
You can get screen capture software that does basically just that for free from various freeware sites. For example, here's a list:

Just wanted to add...
if you hold down Alt when you press the Print Screen button, it will copy only the active window. This can help save you some time to remove the rest of the desktop in PS later.

I use xp/IE6 but am sure this works with other setups. Either click on the image and drag it to the bottom of the IE screen or reduce the size of the browswer window so you can see the desktop/folder you want to copy to and just click and drag.
