I missed the download party yesterday. Thought they would send me an e-mail reminder that I had signed up for to help get them in the Guiness book of records. Oh, well. It looks good so far and most of my extensions had compatible updates.

The option to disable 3rd party cookies is now back in the preferences as a checkbox. The convenient checkbox was removed in version 2, and you had to go into a config dialog to and know what to change. I guess they listen after all!

If you are still using Internet Exploiter, it's time to upgrade! Firefox 3.0

The download party is still ongoing until sometime later today.

Love it! Though I am not quite sure what the intended message is...

Has the "find when you start typing" function been changed back to the way it used to be in Firefox 1? I mean when you start typing and it finds stuff, does it give you a button to find next? Or do you have to go to ctrl+f to get that option? I'd appreciate if someone can try it... That was the only reason I didn't get Firefox 2 haha.

If you can clarify exactly what you are asking about, I will try it. Do you mean when typing into a search engine?

I like it.

It remembers the font size now if you changed it to read the smaller fonts. Now that's cool.

We need themes now. I like my FF theme darker than default theme.

There is a find when you start typing function in firefox. When it's enabled, the browser will begin finding whatever you're typing on the page automatically without you pushing ctrl+f to bring up the find window. In firefox 2, you had to bring up the find window in order to get an option to "find next" or "find previous" where as those came up even if you just started typing to start finding. I'm not sure if I'm making sense...

Yup, it has it. I just typed the letters "mill" and it put a highlight on the word "million" in your signature line.

the find thing must need to be enabled then? I see nothing like this on my just installed FF 3.0. Ctrl F still works, the same as before. Am I missing something obvious here?

Don't know. I never used that feature before. I just started typing and it highlighted the letters. Maybe your cursor is in a text entry box. Try clicking out somewhere that text cannot be entered and see if that works.

Tools> Options> General> Second checkbox allows 'search' when you begin typing. Enjoy :D

My favorite feature (and it's on by default) is searching in the address bar.

Say you visited a forum post yesterday, you forgot the link, but you know it was on DPChallenge and the word macro was in the title. In the address bar, type "dpc macro" and it automagically searches in your history, both in URLs and page titles, and displays results in the drop-down!

Love it!

Me too. It's when I open several tabs, everything freezes and FF crashes. Only here at DPC, so far.

I'll second that. Glad I'm not the only one.

I've also been having issues today with DPC locking up and crashing my browser, but it is also happening at home, which still has FF2 on it.

I like that when I close the final tab, the whole window closes. It was stupid before and stayed open. Easy pleasy.

Hmm...I have had no problems whatever on either of the two computers I installed it. Everything works fine and as it always has.
