I am in desperate need to upgrade my camera body! I feel that right now is not the best time to buy because I know Canon is going to announce this "New 5D" very soon....probably the day after I buy the current 5D.
Anyone have any info on whats on the horizon? I also want to get a body or 2 for the rental site as well.

A 5D replacement would be great ... but it's gonna cost you! Meanwhile, You can get a Canon 40D for less than $1000 right now. That price is so low I almost want to buy one just as a backup.
The Canon 5D, for just $1900, is at such a great price point that even it is hard to resist.

I read that the new 5D will be released mid July.

My guess...
It'll be released to correspond with Photokina in September. They may announce the pending release sooner. |

| I'm interested in getting a full-frame body, but with the current rumors about a "5D Mark II" I prefer to wait a bit... The "old" 5D will probably get significantly cheaper and maybe the new one is even affordable... |
