Hi
Some one is Us will buy wacom tablet for me , it has USB Port, My Pc has usb port, i use my digital camera with it.
My guess is Wacom tablet will be compatiable, just wanted to make sure as donot want to waste 108$

It will cost too much too ship to India and won't be worth any ways even if i get it directly mailed to me and in any case i have to return than i have to pay a bomb to courier to USA.

My guess is usb ports are same it is just that sometimes i come across stuff like USB 2, etc while reading some post on net but i guess that is more to do with speed part rather than shape of USB Port

It has to do with speed and the type of cable. I think the port is the same.

The Wacom tabs that I can find work with USB in win 98 through Win XP so they should work on any version of USB.

I've never seen a USB 2.0 port which was not backward-compatible with USB 1.0, so you should be fine. The only concern is that the (software) driver works with your operating system, but I've found the tablets remarkably trouble-free.

I've even gotten partial functionality out of my 8-year-old ADB (Mac) tablet by running it through an ADB > USB adapter to a Windows 2000 machine.

USB 2 devices will definately work on a USB 1 port. USB 2 is faster than USB 1, but if you only have a USB 1 port, it won't work any faster.

If your PC only has 1 USB port and you want to use both devices at the same time, look for a USB Hub. It's always a good idea to get one with a power supply too, some of the unpowered ones don't work with everything.
