Here are my pics from a Grand Canyon hike last weekend. I didn't use any in challenges so I figured I'd share them.

My pictures

Me and my extreme crew hiked from the south rim to the river via the Kiabab trail, then we followed the river west to Bright Angel Creek and went up following the Bright Angel trail. 18 miles round trip dropping nearly 5,000 feet, and then going back up very steeply at the end. This hike is normally done over 2 or 3 days, we started just before 6am (before sunrise) and ended up at the top just before 3pm
The highlite of the hike, other then watching the sunrise or the Grand Canyon itself, was following a big horn sheep down the trail for about half a mile. Having two mule deer pass us on the trail in the dark was pretty cool too, but it was too dark for pictures at that point.

PS I'm the guy in the white shirt and that menu is at the cafe on the bottom.

Daryl these are wonderful pictures and it looks like you had a great time. Fantastic views. I especially like number 16 with the balancing rock.

Great shots! Looks like it was a lot of fun. I REALLY like 25 and also, 36 & 41. Seems that 25 would make a great print!

Daryl... Great shots! Thanks for explaining why the down and back trip was a full 18 miles. I could not figure out why it was so far, now I know - down Kaibab and up Bright Angel. I gotta do that sometime. We all envy your hike.

Thanks for the nice comments. All around this may have been the best hike I've ever been on.
If you think the photos are nice, they do this hike no justice (not even close). The sunrise, the big horn sheep, coming up bright angel creek... truly an amazing experience.
Anyone that can do it, should put it on their list of things to do. The Grand Canyon is a much different place once you get off the rim.

Next year I'm going to go across the entire canyon, north rim to south rim (in one day again).
