2nd for triathlon, Buffalo, NY - Aug. 9th 2008

For the second year, I will have an opportunity to photograph an upcoming triathlon. If anyone is in the Western New York area (or will be in August), I will be looking for a second photographer to help cover the race. Last year,

vikas did a fantastic job, but has since moved and will not be available.

I really don't make much from these smaller events, so I can only offer $60 for the day. You will, however, maintain copyright to all of your photos. This could be a great stock opportunity as well as a chance to build a sports portfolio.

I only require that you have a DSLR with 6+ MP, and a moderate telephoto lens, 70-200 is ideal. If you have a Canon DSLR, I can provde lenses.

The triathlon will be August 9th, 6:00am - end (about noon). Rain or shine. I'll buy lunch after the race, and if you're interested (and up to it) I'd be happy to shoot over to Niagara Falls (10 min. away) or Buffalo/Niagara River after to shoot just for fun or if you're a stock shooter, I might even be able to arrange a model or two (no promises though).

Deb,

Don't worry about experience. I've seen what you post here and I think you'll do just fine! We'll have plenty of time to go over locations and the shots we need, after that it's just about having fun, and shooting a lot!

I wish I could fly you here. You do great sports work, and you have even better gear than I do! I'm just not sure the $60 would even cover baggage charges these days!

If anyone else would like to join in, let me know. We could make a sort of mini-GTG out of this! I can only afford to pay one official assistant though. Alternatively, we could have a GTG at Niagara Falls after. It's only a short drive from Toronto, Buffalo, Rochester... Ithaca.

Deb, I'll PM you with details shortly. If anyone's interested in either GTG idea, post here and we'll figure that part out.

Nick, So sorry, But I am shooting the Irish Dance competition that day at the Niagara Falls convention center (Lockport Feis at the Falls). I forgot all about it until my sister called and asked for the hotel money.

If there is any GTG in Niagara Falls I'll be there until late afternoon...
