Yippee, I didn't go down!!!! Didn't go up, but didn't go down!
I find it interesting that 7 of the top 10 have not ribboned at all in this, and no one has ribboned more than once. |

Yeah, slowly but surely going up :P
By the by, isn't that supposed to be 2008 on top years instead of 2007? |

YAY! Good to see myself heading upward to the top. I have asked myself to finish top 10 in this contest, right now I am 6th and have an awesome shot ready for the June challenge. Still no ribbon yet for the free study but plenty of time for that. |

If you noticed each month you see a blue, red, and yellow box. This shows who ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd that month of the 2008 Free Study Marathon.
Now the FSM will issue the FSM - Blue, Yellow, and Red ribbon to each months winner. If you have came in first, second, or third in any month so far this year please copy and save the following ribbon(s) that apply to you and you are welcome to place it in your profile and/or signature.
[thumb]687186[/thumb] <--- 1st Place
[thumb]687188[/thumb] <--- 2st Place
[thumb]687187[/thumb] <--- 3st Place |

Once again, thanks for organising and keeping track of this. It is fun. I too have a great shot already for June, and am trying my best to beat that one for the rest of the month.
Congrats and good luck to all. |

If I may put my comment about the ribbons... I think you shouldn't give monthly ribbons. Only one at the end of the year.
people here looks very excited already by just calculating the points and stuff, like myself... I don't think ribbons needed...

Actually I tend to like the idea of the ribbons (not that I will ever get one, lol). It is a shame that because of the recent trend for everyone to copy the idea of the Posthumous ribbons (and I like the Posthumous ones), that the legit ones (like these ones) lose significance. |

Not that I necessarily disagree, but why are these any more "legitimate" than the Posthumous ones, and others? |

Just like the Posthumous ribbons these are just unofficial ribbons to DPC but official for the FSM. The participants that have the TOP 3 HIGHEST score for that month can link or copy/paste the ribbon in their profile or signature. If they don't want to do so they don't have too. I just though it would be nice to give each months top 3 an award they could post.
Hope that makes sense :)
Edit to clarify top 3 score for the month.

Because these ones are based on the voting of all of DPC, as opposed to the opinion of one single person. (and I have no problems with the actual Posthumous ones, because they are to highlight creativity that was not recognized by the voters. And as the orginal version of that, the Posthumous ribbons themselves are creative. The myriad of ones that came after are another story) (no offense intended to anyone who has created their own ribbon... I am merely stating my own personal opinion)

Wow! I cracked into the top 20! OK, I just barely made it with a rank of 20th. But hey, no one is going to rain on my parade. Onward to the top ten! |

I didn't move at all, and I'm actually happy with that. After 3 months in a row with my average score dropping, I need something really good this month. |

No you don't, Sara. I wouldn't mind if you turned in something absolutely average.
Seriously, great job on making the climb. |
