The shot below is the one I entered in the Male Portrait challenge and I really thought it would score better than it did for some reason.



So I am wondering if this was under advanced editing, and I used that one instead if it would have score higher. What do you think?

I gave the on enetered a 6. In and advanced challenge I may have been tempted to vote the desat one a 5 - only on rare occasions do I like desaturation done like this as to my eyes it just looks odd. I wonder what a partial desatuaration of the completely desaturated background would look like - might give the pop to the entertainers whilst retaining a more natural feel to the scene as a whole?

Mmmh...The crop, more than the editing, makes the difference. Globally, the composition of the 2d is better, more dynamic.
