Anybody know if for some reason the hotshoe (Canon 40D) is disabled when shooting Live View with Remote Control (via software)? Mine refuse to fire. Test button fires, but not software shutter.

I couldn't get the hot shoe on mine to work in live view mode either - and I wasn't trying tethered. I just got all set up and focused, swithed back to regular mode and fired the shutter/flash the normal way.

| Thanks for confirming. I didn't try the pc sync connection, but probably will just to see. It was a great excercise in learning about this method of controlling the camera anyway. |
