Tonight.... at 5:30pm (or so) I will be the proud papa!!!!!! of a D300!!!!!!!! I would skip work now to go get it if I could... but alas, patience...

Its almost disappointing that you can't use them all at the exact same time. Well...you could if you were taking a picture of a blank wall.

It's a mistake, I'm selling my D300 on ebay for $1000, going to get a D85 instead, it has less megapixels but it has a lot better review. I'd cancel if you still can.

I'm an evil person, hehe, the D300 is a great beast of a camera, you will be very pleased with it. Congrats!

Screw waiting till the end of the day... turns out I can get to it over lunch and still be back in time to play with it ever so discreetly for the rest of this very slow day.

The most interesting application is birds in flight, but the focus points are also both closer to the edge of the frame and closer to each other, so it's more possible to focus without having to recompose afterwards.

I am assuming the floor or ground since he said he picked it up. I got mine out of a brown box, I had assumed they all came from brown boxes.

Got it from Vistek cause they gave me a student Discount... I usually get my stuff at The Camera Store downtown but they don't do student discounts on hardware :( but I still get almost everything there cause their service is better

Number of AF points is one of my only real gripes with my 40d. I recompose often.

<---------- That's all I have to say now.... the worst part is I'm her at work suffering through the day with half a camera (lenes are all at home) and it's killing me.... I want to try this bad boy out!!!

Yeah...I'd have to agree. Vistek feels like a department store or a big sporting goods store. If I have a question at The Camera Store and the person doesn't know the answer they come with you to find out so they know for next time. At Vistek you are pointed at another counter. And of course, you've got Peter Gold... :)

I bought my light stand at Vistek (it was a bout 75% less there) and felt like I was cheating on The Camera Store :)

Looks like its raining now but hopefully it will clear up when its time to go home
