I 'd like to comment my submission in "Male Portraits", which almost got a "brown" 133/148 (out of focus, distracting background)
Male Portrait: A Gypsy Man
I can see a man, he seems to be well formed, his hair are free, he is tilted a bit and smiling in a strange way (smiling in self confidence?) his eyes are wide shut and somehow reddish ("The look on his eyes are a little weird" said Kel27), his skin is affected by the sun. He is an interesting guy.
This picture is horizontally spitted. The head and skin tones fit with the sunset. The t-shirt with the sea.
The focus is soft and that may add imo in the overall impression. It gives me the feeling that I can see through his own "wide shut eyes".
Here is the sharpened (not submitted version) version
Some unedited outtakes too!

For the record I used the mounted flash against the sunset. |
