Not that my recent entry in the 'Boats' Challenge was even close to winning,

I did receive comments on the lighting and creativity of the shot. So I figured (since I am avoiding studies) I would give a brief, very brief setup.

For some odd reason, I keep a clamp light, yes one of those $4 jobbers you can get from any hardware store or even K-Mart/Walmart type stores and even the Dollar store and grocery stores. Though mine came from Lowes. L()L

Anyway, I keep this light on the head/foot of my bed (I sleep upside down) so there I was laying on my bed thinking about the boat challenge and how there are not many boats in the desert. Though now that I think of it the neighbor has one that has been sitting in an empty lot for years.

So, I figured, might as well take the smackdown from voters and make a paper boat. So I took all of five seconds for a quick search on how to make one. Screwed up the first one, got the second one right without fallowing step by step. So I looked at my paper boat and didn't like it. Doesn't look like a boat, so I thought lets do another one with coloured poster paper so I did that and just dropped it inside. Still didn't like it, so I made a sail and attached it with black athletic (cloth) tape and a straighten paperclip. Since it was a paper boat and I needed to clip the sail to it. 6-;.

I then needed an ocean, and having a small foamcore with dark blue on one side and white on the other made the perfect ocean so i threw the paper boat on it. Though I figured I needed a backdrop as well to cover the wood of the bedhead. I took the coloured poster paper (light blue) and just leaned it against the bedhead.

Following the setup (which took all of 10 minutes) I positioned the light and took a handfull of shots. Making minor adjustments to settings to create the above image. Below is a crappy over exposed image so you can see the setup and stuff. Notice the clamp-light in frame and the bedhead above the light blue poster paper.

Enjoy 6-;
