Pez - Day 9

Convoy

06/09/2008 09:16:41 AM · #202
I have posted a couple of very lazy catch up days which I won't bother posting here. Just wanted to apologize for my lack of comments to all in one swoop. My wrist is still killing me it hurts to type. So as soon as it feels a bit better I'll catch up with comments. Enjoying the pic's very much so. Some of you really crack me up. I thought I was warped!

I will also apologize for my slacking. My day trip to Fenway saturday turned into a whole weekend ordeal. I am trying to catch up by tonight and will resume commenting shortly. Just breezing through, everything looks great though. Can't wait to take a closer look.

Bottles - Day 9
06/09/2008 11:31:46 PM · #211
It was a long (3-day) weekend over here in my part of the globe and it was a busy one too, so I was unfortunately unable to do shooting and uploading for this side-challenge.

To make up for it, I did these shots. Unfortunately (again), these shots were relatively rushed and I'm not that satisfied with how they came out... =(

Stapler Series - Day 07

"Wrath"

(not as angry as I had pictured it too be. the basic concept is there, but it just lacks havoc. lol at the title of the chapter though and it was fortunate that there's a piece of paper lodged in the stapler's teeth. hehe.)

Stapler Series - Day 08

"Greed"

(the most satisfying one out of the bunch for me)

Stapler Series - Day 09

"Lust"

(i really didn't know how to position the staplers so i went with this. i passed on looking for a red stapler and went for a red background instead. darn though, i didn't notice the shadow on the lower right until after post-processing)

Stapler Series - Day 10

"Unsung Hero"

(is this considered cheating since there's no stapler? =p hehe.)

Checking in on Lady mouse today we see she spent some time at the spa and beauty salon. It appears she is anxiously awaiting a phone call from Mr. Mouse.

I don't think she has any idea what Mr. Mouse has been going through. I hope he calls her back.

Day #10:

How I would shoehorn my shoehorn to meet the "Curves" challenge. Actually, I did try to shoehorn it by dolling it up in Bratz clothes to submit as "Shoehorn Barbie, curvy n' cute". It was pathetic and I didn't use it.

Did anyone miss me, as I am now back from our five day trip to Melbourne.
We had a lovely time with both grandsons and our family.

I also took some photos of our toothbrushes while away, and after I process them, I will upload them here, for you all to see.

WOW, some amazing images here for me to comment on.....

I really didn't think things through well enough when I chose my subject. The little guy is so difficult to work with - he can't stand on his own, he can't hold things, and he's got that stupid smile fixed on his face. I'm trying, but I'm not sure I can manage another 20 days. Meanwhile:

Suggestions to Help.....

Slice a little piece off the base of the potato for him to stand up.
Add a little piece of blue tack to the base, or double sided tape.
Maybe a look around at $2.00 cheap shops or craft stores.
Maybe ask friends with children with toy dolls cloths, like hats, or different things that may work.
I have some google eyes from the craft shop that I am going to use on my toothpaste.
Buttons and small objects may also work.
Don't give up, as I think you could do some amazing things with a potato.
Take him back into the garden among the soil.
Chop up another potato in different ways with a knife or grater.
example; Mashed, Pie, Sliced, Diced, Grated, Potato Salad.
Potato Carved and add paint to it, for a screen print.
Potato with other vegetables.
Introduce him to some other potatoes like himself, in different shapes, and also other types of potato like sweet potato, like we have here.

I hope some of these ideas will help you.

I agree with Sherpet, I think you need a few props and the ideas will flow. My inspiration was looking through past challenge subjects and figuring how I could fit my item to the various challenge themes.
