Slice a little piece off the base of the potato for him to stand up.
Add a little piece of blue tack to the base, or double sided tape.
Maybe a look around at $2.00 cheap shops or craft stores.
Maybe ask friends with children with toy dolls cloths, like hats, or different things that may work.
I have some google eyes from the craft shop that I am going to use on my toothpaste.
Buttons and small objects may also work.
Don't give up, as I think you could do some amazing things with a potato.
Take him back into the garden among the soil.
Chop up another potato in different ways with a knife or grater.
example; Mashed, Pie, Sliced, Diced, Grated, Potato Salad.
Potato Carved and add paint to it, for a screen print.
Potato with other vegetables.
Introduce him to some other potatoes like himself, in different shapes, and also other types of potato like sweet potato, like we have here.
I hope some of these ideas will help you.

The little guy is so difficult to work with - he can't stand on his own, he can't hold things, and he's got that stupid smile fixed on his face. I'm trying, but I'm not sure I can manage another 20 days. Meanwhile:

Yes. The static items (keys, shoehorn, stapler, etc) are much harder than the non-static ones (Pez, guitars, bottles, cups, etc). No one says you have to stay static. Introduce his extended potato family. I think with a wife, 3 kids, grandma, a dog, and a nosey neighbor or boss you could quickly leave the realm of one potato and branch out to all sort of interesting events. Using locations is another area. Just wander around outside your home or office with Potato in hand and take tons of shots. I am going to have to disagree with the cooking theme suggested though. I have grown attached to Potato and would hate to see more of his kin killed for the sake of photos :) |

As interesting as many of these are, you know most of them would bomb in a challenge. Especially my shoehorns, which seem to have a fairly narrow appeal. |

The two Pez photos that I entered in Challenges did about average for me, i.e. below average for DPC. :) No need to comment on these, unless you feel an overpowering urge.
Warm Colors Challenge
Paranormal Challenge
PS: The alien is a fake Pez. Yes there are people and companies that make fake or fantasy heads that you can stick on your regular Pez!

My shoehorn fit to the "Bicycles II" challenge for a lucky Friday the 13th:
The prepared cyclist will make sure to always have essential emergency gear when riding. A spare tube, multi-tool and shoehorn can all be stored neatly in a small seat pack.
