| Going to Japan next month and was wondering are their power outlets different than here in the US and what type of converter do I have to buy so that I can recharge my digital camera battery. |

| I don't know about the power outlet they have but for recharging, digital camera and camcorder usually don't need an adaptor. Look in your instruction book, the specification about your charger or adapter and if it read like this: 100-240V 50-60Hz you usually don't need any transformer. |

Hello from Japan.
I'm not from the US, but my US-friends tell me that the voltage is the same. I'm not sure about the Hz rate, but I'll just check with an outlet...
It reads 100v 50-60Hz. You should be fine.
Where are you visiting? Tohoku? |

I have been to Japan once; I was trying to remember, but I did a search. What I found suggests that while there AC plugs are almost identical, their outlets will not accept US plugs which have one bigger lead, e.g., a polarized plug. (See //www.stayonline.com/destinations/japan.htm)
Also, you will need an adapter to use the phone with your computer. |

Be sure to stop and get some good sushi while your there.
Are you going in time for the cherry blossoms?? That would make for some beautiful shots. |
