I originally posted this Q in another thread but I guess it got lost?
I want to try 'extreme macro' and was looking for a couple of tips. My A1 has a 49mm thread and I was going to reverse a 50mm lens onto it. Can I use any lens? I think Olympus have a button that allows me to open the aperture? how do you keep the aperture open? and (without breaking the bank for a seldom used tool) what type of lens should I go for?
As always, thanks in advance for replies

A simple prime 50mm lens with as big an aperature as you can find. If I remember right, it also needs to be a manual focussing lens (the one I use is), but I don't recall for sure if that's a requirement. For more info, here's a recent thread: Macro Jacko gone Whacko Macro!. Also, search the forums for "reversed lens".
